Methods and Systems for Energy-Efficient Production Planning
(Jul 2026 – Jun 2029)
(Jul 2026 – Jun 2029)
SMARTFACT focuses on the development of future factory technologies, with particular emphasis on robotics, automation, process optimisation, and advanced manufacturing systems.
Within the project, INEA is developing advanced methods and systems for energy-efficient production planning and scheduling in industrial processes. The objective is to reduce overall production costs through the optimisation of energy consumption and by adapting production schedules to dynamic changes in energy prices and resource availability. The solution will be validated in both laboratory and industrial environments and will contribute to increased competitiveness and sustainability of manufacturing companies.
The project is coordinated by the Jožef Stefan Institute and involves the following partners: University of Ljubljana – Faculty of Electrical Engineering (UL FE), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (UL FS), Faculty of Computer and Information Science (UL FRI), University of Maribor – Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics (UM FERI), Rudolfovo Science and Technology Centre, TECOS, Yaskawa, Metronik, Gorenje, SICK, INEA, Adria Mobil, Rettro, Fotona, Elvez, and Keko Equipment.
