Research Project KiberNET

Virtual power plant – internal development project

(Jan 2009 – Jan 2011)

Inea has successfully developed and demonstrated the operation of a virtual power plant system, as the most advanced demand management technology for energy suppliers, traders, and distributors. KIBERnet is a fully automated system that connects users and distributed energy resources into a virtual power plant system.

The pilot system was implemented in collaboration with the largest Slovenian distributor and involved a range of users with a total peak power of 30 MW, demonstrating demand adjustment of up to 5 MW within a one-hour time interval.
