Hydrogen/Battery based Resilient Chemical Energy Storage Development

The purpose of the HyBReED project is to develop methods for efficient production, storage, and use of hydrogen in manufacturing and its integration into the existing energy network. To achieve these objectives, the program will include the following components and structures:

  • Development of methods for efficient production, storage, and use of hydrogen.
  • Development of better system components for energy devices that can be integrated into the existing energy network.
  • Investigate the potential use of hydrogen as an energy carrier in energy-intensive sectors.
  • Ensure the longevity of energy devices by developing materials resistant to hydrogen.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the technical, economic, and environmental factors associated with the production, storage, and use of hydrogen.

INEA will include support for the use of hydrogen technologies inside the inGenious product, which will help regulate the electrical network. Hydrogen will be used as a source of flexibility in the network. During the project, actual hydrogen sources will not be used for testing; instead, a simulator developed at the Jožef Stefan Institute will be utilized.

Amount of co-financing: 3,731,440.60 EUR

Amount of co-financing from INEA: 99,969 EUR
