Horizon 2020: FEVER – Flexible Energy Production, Demand and Storage-based Virtual Power Plants for Electricity Markets and Resilient DSO Operation
(Feb 2020 – Jul 2023)
(Feb 2020 – Jul 2023)
The European Research & Innovation project FEVER funded by the Horizon 2020 programme aims at demonstrating and implementing solutions that leverage the potential of flexibility in generation, consumption, and storage of electricity. Deploying artificial intelligence and ledger technologies, peer-to-peer trading of flexible energies and a toolbox comprising advanced monitoring and prediction algorithms, FEVER empowers distribution system operators (DSOs) to better observe and manage their grids.
Inea’s role on the project is the development and innovation of a decentralized automatic flexibility trading platform (Virtual Power System), connecting flexibility providers (consumers, producers, prosumers), intermediaries, aggregators, and demand response users. It is built off the successes and extensive experience of past projects that researched energy flexibility, leveraging the FlexOffer protocol for trading energy flexibilities as an integral component of the solution.
